    Bread Crumbs

I always seem to have leftover bread from loaves that I don't get around to eating before they dry out. Do you have any tips for making bread crumbs?
A: The most efficient way to make bread crumbs is to dry the bread thoroughly, cut it into 2-inch cubes or so and then whirl the cubes in the food processor until the crumbs reach the size you're looking for. If you only need a few tablespoons of bread crumbs for sprinkling or lightly thickening a sauce, you can also grate a dry piece of bread on the small or large holes of a hand-held flat grater or a box grater.
