    • 8 oz. ziti
    • 2T. butter or margarine
    • 1 med. onion, chopped
    • 2T. all purpose flour
    • 1/2t. dry mustard
    • 1/2t. freshly ground black pepper
    • 2 cups milk
    • 2 cups shredded fontina or cheddar cheese
    • Topping:
    • 3T. Italian style bread crumbs
    • 1T. grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1T. butter, melted


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 2 qt. baking dish. Cook pasta according to pkg. directions.
    2. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion; cook, stirring until translucent, about 10 minutes. Add flour, mustard and pepper; mix well.
    3. Whisk in milk; cook, whisking, until thickened. Add fontina; cook, stirring, until cheese is melted.
    4. Drain pasta in a colander; gently stir pasta into cheese sauce. Transfer to prepared baking dish. For topping, in a small bowl, combine bread crumbs, Parmesan and melted butter. Sprinkle evenly over pasta mixture. Bake until browned, about 25 minutes.
