Baked Beans with Green Chilies

List of Ingredients
- 1 1/2c. dried navy beans
- 1/2c. pinto beans
- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 1 med. sliced onion
- 1/4c. packed brown sugar
- 3T. molasses
- 1t. salt
- 1 1/2t. mustard
- 1/8t. pepper
- 3 green chilies, roasted and diced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300.
- Use your favorite method to tenderize beans or according to pkg. directions. Drain and reserve liquid.
- In a large skillet brown bacon until crisp. Remove bacon and remove all but a T. of grease.
- Saute onion in skillet.
- In 2 qt. ungreased casserole dish, add beans, onion, and bacon. Stir in brown sugar, molasses, salt, mustard, pepper, chilies and 1c. of the reserved liquid.
- Then add the remaining reserved liquid or water to almost cover ingredients.
- Cover and bake 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Remove cover for the last 30 mins. of baking.
- If beans look dry during cooking, stir.
