    GAME-A-RONI (using any meat)

    1/4 cup chopped onion
    2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    2 lbs. ground lean meat (any kind)
    1/4 cup salad oil
    1 can (1 lb. 13 oz.) tomatoes
    1 small can of tomato sauce
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    2 tsp. salt for sauce
    2 tsp. oregano
    5 quarts water
    2 tbsp. salt for macaroni
    1 lb. macaroni product
    2 cups cottage cheese
    1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, sliced thin
    1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese


    Chop onion and garlic, mix with meat and add to heated oil in frying pan. Cook until meat is browned evenly and lightly. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, and spices. Simmer, stirring occasionally, about 45 minutes until mixture is reduced to consistency of sauce.

    In a large pot, heat water to a rolling boil, add salt and macaroni product. Cook until tender according to package directions. Drain.

    In a large flat pan, spread 1/3 of the meat sauce; then half the macaroni, half the cottage, Mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses; half the remaining meat; the rest of the macaroni; then the rest of the cheeses topped by the rest of the meat, with a bit of cheese sprinkled on top. Bake at 350 degrees F. 20-30 minutes until bubbly. Cool 15 minutes, cut into squares and serve. Serves 12.
