    Hearty Italian Biscuits

    Source of Recipe

    Internet

    List of Ingredients

2½ cups Red Band self-rising flour
    1/3 cup butter flavored shortening
1 cup Hearty Italian flavored cheese (Kraft brand)
    ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
    2 tablespoons sour cream
    ¾ cup milk
    2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
    1 tablespoon parsley flakes
    about ¼ cup extra flour
    2 tablespoons butter (optional)
    ¼ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

    Recipe

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Measure four and shortening into mixing bowl. Cut shortening into flour until it looks like coarse oatmeal. Stir Italian flavored and cheddar cheese into flour mixture.
Add sour cream and milk. Stir with fork until dough ball forms around fork. You may need to add milk if dough ball does not form, or flour if dough is too sticky.

Mix ¼ cup flour, 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese and parsley. Flour surface. Transfer dough and knead 12 times. Form ball and roll to ½-inch thickness.

Cut biscuits and transfer to baking pan. Tip: Don't twist the cutter. Biscuits will rise lop-sided if you twist while cutting.
Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Brush top with butter and garlic mixture before serving.
    Serve with spaghetti or lasagna
