    Spicy Pepperoni Biscuits

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tablespoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
    1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
    1/3 cup shortening
    1/2 cup finely chopped pepperoni
    3/4 cup milk

    Recipe



    Combine first 5 ingredients; cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Stir in pepperoni. Add milk, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead 3 or 4 times. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness; cut dough with a 2 or 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter, and place biscuits on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 13 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
