    1/4 C. water--lukewarm
    2-1/2 C. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    3 T. sugar
    3 T. butter, melted
    1 T. orange zest
    2-1/2 tsp. active dry yeast
    1 tsp. lemon zest
    2/3 C. orange juice--room temperature
    2 tsp. vegetable oil

    Recipe



    Combine lukewarm water, sugar, and dry yeast in a large bowl, stirring until completely dissolved. Add warm orange juice and mix well. Add 1 cup of the flour gradually, beating until smooth.

    Cover bowl and set in a warm place until bubbly and light (30-40 minutes).

    Add salt, butter, and orange and lemon zest, then beat gently.

    Stir in remaining flour gradually, mixing well.

    Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic (about 10 minutes).

    Use 2 tsp. vegetable oil to grease a large bowl, then place dough into bowl, turning dough around to coat.

    Cover bowl and place in warm place until dough has doubled in size (1-2 hours).

    Punch dough down. Knead for 5 minutes. Shape into a loaf and place into an oiled loaf pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place about 1 hour.

    Preheat oven to 375*F. When bread has risen, bake 35-45 minutes. When done, remove bread from pan and cool on a wire rack.
