Chocolate Rum Refrigerator Cake

1 cup sweet butter
1/4 cup sugar
6 oz chocolate squares, melted, and cooled
2 eggs, separated
pinch salt
1-1/2 cups almonds
1/4 cup dark Rum
1/2 pkg. vanilla wafers (about 12)
whipped cream
Recipe
Oil a loaf pan, (I would say 9x5x3 inches) lightly with vegetable oil
Cream butter with the sugar, beating until light and fluffy, stir in cooled chocolate. Beat in egg yolks, one at a time, and salt.
Grind the almonds, or put them through your blender. Add these
Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Fold these into the pudding.
Add the rum, and the wafers, broken into rather large pieces, discard the crumbs.
Spoon the mixture into loaf pan, PRESSING DOWN WELL. Chill overnight.
To serve, unmold on a serving platter and surround with whipped cream flavored with a little rum.
