2 Cups granulated sugar
3/4 Cup butter
2 Cups all-purpose flour (sifted)
1 Cup cornstarch
3 tsp baking powder
1 Cup milk
5 Egg whites

Recipe



Cream the sugar and butter together.
Sift the flour, baking powder and cornstarch together (add these alternately with milk to creamed mixture).
Beat egg whites until stiff and fold these into mixture.
Pour into two greased 8-inch layer pans and bake at 350ºF for 25 to 30 minutes.
