    4 Tbsp. cornstarch
    3 cups milk
    4 eggs, beaten
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. almond extract
    1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
    1 pound cake
    2 oz semisweet chocolate, grated
    6 candied cherries, chopped

    Recipe



    Mix cornstarch with 1/2 cup of milk. Add the rest of the milk, the beaten eggs, and the sugar and cook over low heat until the mixture comes to a boil, stirring as it cooks. Add butter, cool and then add flavorings.

    Slice cake into very thin horizontal layers and put them together with cold custard, spreading the top as well.

    Chill overnight.

    Top with grated chocolate and cherries just before serving
