Strawberry Cream Pie

9" pastry shell
1/3 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups milk
3 small egg yolks
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbs. firm butter
1 1/2 cups strawberries Recipe
Bake and cool shell, if required.
In heavy saucepan, blend flour and sugar. Slowly stir in milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens.
Stir 1/2 cup of hot mixture into well-beaten egg yolks. Pour back into saucepan, cook and stir 2 minutes more. Remove from heat.
Stir in vanilla and butter. Pour half of mixture into pie shell. Layer mixture with strawberries. Pour remaining mixture on top. Cool and serve.
Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
