    8 oz almond paste
    3 sticks margarine
    1 cup sugar
    4 eggs
    1 jar apricot preserves
    2 cups flour
    taste of Amaretto
    10 drops green food color
    8 drops red food color
    4 oz chocolate chips

    Recipe



    In large bowl, break up almond paste.
    Add butter, sugar, egg yolks and amaretto; beat 3 minutes and add flour.
    Beat egg white until stiff, then add into almond paste
    Remove 1-1/2 cups batter
    Spread evenly into greased pan.
    Divide rest. Add green food coloring to one,red food coloring to the other
    Bake in separate pans at 375=B0, 5 minutes. Cool thoroughly
    Bring apricot preserves to boil and strain.
    Spread thin layer of preserves between layers.
    Cover with wax paper, place weights evenly on top and let stand overnight
    Melt chocolate, spread on top and cut cookies
