    1 C. butter (no substitutes), softened
    1/2 C. powdered sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/4 C. flour
    1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
    2 C. (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1/3 C. sliced almonds, toasted

    Recipe



    In a mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and salt till fluffy. Gradually beat in flour. Spread into a greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350º for 16-20 minutes or till lightly browned
    In a microwave safe bowl, combine condensed milk and chocolate chips. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 1-2 minutes or until chips are melted; stir until smooth. Stir in extract. Spread over the shortbread.
    Sprinkle with almonds and press down.
    Refrigerate till firm.
    Cut into squares.
    Makes 4 dozen
