    German Chocolate Caramel Bars #2

    60 light caramels
    1/2 cup evaporated milk
    1 package German chocolate cake mix
    3/4 cup melted butter
    1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
    1 cup chopped nuts
    1 cup chocolate chips

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    In a large bowl, combine cake mix, melted butter, sweetened condensed milk, and nuts. Press half of the dough into a 9 x 13 greased pan. (Reserve the rest for topping.) Bake for 8 minutes.

    Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked crust. Spread caramel sauce over chocolate chips. Crumble the rest of dough over caramel layer.

    Bake for 18-20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.

    Caramel Sauce

    In a sauce pan, combine caramels and 1/2 cup evaporated milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until caramels are melted.
