    1 cup sugar
    1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    1 cup(2 sticks) butter--softened
    2 tsp vanilla
    2 eggs
    2 1/4 cups flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp baking soda
    3 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
    1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
    1/2 (7 oz) milk chocolate candy bar (chopped)
    3 (1.4 oz) toffee candy bars chopped

    Preheat oven to 375º

    In large bowl, beat sugar, brown sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs: beat well

    Add flour baking powder and baking soda. Mix well. Stir in oatmeal, candy and nuts.

    Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes (centers will look slightly underbaked)

    Yield 2 dozen cookies
