    Rum Rasin Filled Cookies

    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. milk
    1 egg 3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla

    filling:
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 T. cornstarch
    1/4 c. rum
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. ground hickory or walnuts
    3/4 cup boiling water

    mix filling first:: simmer all but nuts until thickened, remove from heat, add nuts, & let cool.

    mix to make soft dough. roll out to 1/4 " thick, cut into rounds. place a tablesthingy of filling in center of round,cover with another and seal. bake at 350 for 15 min.
