    4 cups flour
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp cream of tartar
    1 tsp baking soda
    2/3 cup shortening
    2 cups brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 cup chopped nuts

    Recipe



    Sift together first 4 ingredients
    Cream together shortening and sugar
    Add eggs and blend well
    Add dry ingredients and nuts
    Mix thoroughly
    Shape dough into rolls and chill overnight
    Cut into 1/2 inch slices
    Bake at 400° for 6 to 8 minutes
    Makes 9 dozen
