    1/2 c soft butter
    1/4 c brown sugar
    1 egg yolk
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 c flour
    3/4 c finely chopped nuts
    slightly beaten egg white

    Recipe



    Mix butter, sugar yolk and vanilla.
    Add flour and salt.
    Roll into 1" balls.
    Dip in egg white.
    Roll in nuts.
    Place 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake 375° 5 minutes.
    Remove and press a thimble gently on the top of each one.
    Return to oven and bake 8 minutes longer.
    Cool.
    Place tinted icing in thimble print.

    Icing:

    1/4 c butter
    2 c powdered sugar
    1 tsp vanilla
    2 T cream (enough to make spreading consistency)

    Blend ingredients, and tint with food coloring either pink, green or yellow.
