    1 cup onion;, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    15 ounces canned minced clams, undrained
    16 ounces can tomatoes, cut up
    12 ounces tomato paste
    1 tablespoon dried parsley
    1 teaspoon sugar
    1 teaspoon dried crushed basil
    1/2 teaspoon dried crushed thyme
    1/2 teaspoon salt

    Cook onion and garlic in oil for 8 to 10 minutes until tender. Using a slotted spoon, transfer onion and garlic to crockpot. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low 4 to 5 hours.
