    2 sticks margarine
    2 cups sugar
    3 eggs
    3 cups flour
    1 tsp. Baking powder
    1 tsp. Soda
    ½ tsp. Salt
    4 tblsp. Cocoa (heaping)
    1 tsp. Vanilla extract
    1 cup buttermilk

    Put cocoa in 1 cup of hot water and set aside. Cream margarine & sugar, add eggs, one at time & beat well after each. Sift together flour, soda, baking powder and salt, add alternately with milk to other mixture. Add cocoa & vanilla. Bake in 3 9” cake pans or a sheet cake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 min. Ice with following icing or good with chocolate also.

    Icing:
    2 sticks of margarine, 2 cups sugar, 1 cup carnation evaporated milk. Mix together & cook, stirring constantly until thick.

    Will ice 3 layer cake.
