    First mixture:

    1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese (softened)
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 egg
    1 cup chocolate chips
    Combine all ingredients and set aside. May combine by hand or by mixer.

    Second mixture:

    1/4 cup cocoa
    1 cup sugar
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 cup water
    1/3 cup cooking oil

    Topping:

    1/2 cup almond slivers
    Sugar
    Method: Combine all ingredients of second mixture, stirring well but not too vigorously. Can do this without a mixer.

    Fill paper lined muffin tins 1/3 full of the mixture. Place 1 heaping tablespoon of the first mixture on top of this - Do Not Stir! You may need to go back over all to use up this mixture! Sprinkle with the almond slivers and a little granulated sugar. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until tester inserted comes out clean. Cool on rack. Be sure to remove from pans immediately upon removing from oven, before cooling. This makes about 18-20 cupcakes.
