Orange Coconut Cake

1 box orange or yellow cake mix
1 small package of orange gelatin (3 ounces)
1 cup water
1/3 cup oil
2 eggs
Combine ingredients and beat 3 minutes at medium speed of electric mixer. Pour batter into two 9-inch bake pans. Bake according to package directions. Cool and split layers.
Yield: 16 servings.
Filling:
1 (16 ounce) carton sour cream
Juice of 1 orange or 1/4 cup orange juice
1 (6 ounce) frozen coconut
2 cups sugar
Combine ingredients. Reserve 1 cup for frosting. Filling between layers.
Frosting:
Reserved filling
1 (8-ounce) carton whipped topping
Combine filling and topping. Spread on sides of top of cake. Refrigerate 24 hours before serving.
