Peanut Apple Crunch Cake

1/4 Cup butter or margarine
1-1/4 Cup crunchy peanut butter
2 eggs
1 (18.5 oz) pkg. spice cake mix

Apple Filling:

12 tart apples
1/3 Cup butter or margarine
1/3 Cup crunchy peanut butter
1 Cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp nutmeg

Preheat oven 350
In saucepan, melt butter and peanut butter together
In lg mixing bowl blend peanut butter mix with eggs and spice cake mix
Pour 3/4 of mixture into bottom of a 9x13 greased pan
Set remaining mixture aside

Prepare Apple Filling:

Cut each apple into 12 sections
Melt butter and peanut butter together
Blend with apples, sugar, cinamon, and nutmeg in large saucepan

Cook on low, heat apples until tender
Spread apple filling over cake batter
Pour remaining batter into pan
Bake for 30-40 minutes
Cut into bars or squares, serve warm
