    1 7-ounce packet of sweet yellow Martha White Cornbread Mix
    2 pounds of chicken, cut in small pieces
    2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    ¼ cup onion
    3 cups coarsely chopped cabbage
    2 tablespoons margarine
    2 tablespoons flour
    ½ teaspoon salt
    ¼ teaspoon pepper
    1 egg
    1 ¼ cups milk
    1 ¼ cups chopped sweet banana peppers
    ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
    ½ cup milk

    In medium saucepan cook cabbage in lightly salted water for 10 minutes. Drain and set aside. In a pan, sauté chicken until almost done. Stir in peppers and onions. Sauté 5 minutes on medium heat. Drain and set aside. Melt margarine in a saucepan. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Add 1 ¼ cups milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened. Stir in chicken mixture and cheese. Stir until cheese has melted. Remove from heat and mix with cabbage. Pour mixture into cast iron skillet. Mix cornbread mix with egg and ½ cup milk. Stir until smooth. Pour over chicken and cabbage. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
