    4 chicken breasts, boned and chopped
    1/4 cup butter
    1 cup sliced mushrooms
    1/4 cup chopped onions
    3 tablespoons flour
    2/3 cup milk
    6 ounces chopped green chilies, divided
    1 small tomato
    1 clove garlic
    1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    6 ounces tortilla chips
    1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
    1 cup sour cream
    1 tablespoon chili powder

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Butter 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.

    In large braising pan, brown chicken in butter. Remove chicken with a slotted spoon. Add mushrooms and onions to pan. Sauté just until tender. Blend in flour. Cook for 3 minutes. Slowly whisk in milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Add 2/3 of green chilies.

    In blender, combine tomato, remaining green chilies, garlic, cumin and salt. Purée until almost smooth. Add to pan with chicken.

    Crumble tortilla chips over bottom of pre-pared pan. Cover with chicken mixture. Top with cheese. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until done.

    Combine sour cream and chili powder. Spoon dollop onto each serving.

    Serving quantity: Serves 6 to 8.
