    Walnut Crunch Pumpkin Pie

    1 1/4 cups coarsely chopped walnuts
    1 cup brown sugar, packed
    1 can (15oz.) pumpkin filling
    1 can (12 oz.) evaporated milk
    3/4 cup sugar
    2 large eggs, lightly beaten
    1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 unbaked pie shell (9")
    3 Tbsp butter, melted

    Mix walnuts and brown sugar in small bowl. Combine pumpkin, milk, sugar, eggs, spice, and salt in medium bowl; mix well. Place 3/4 cup nut-sugar mixture on the bottom of pie shell. Pour batter over. Bake in preheated oven 475 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 40=50 minutes or until knife inserted in pie comes out clean. Cool. Add butter to remaining nut-sugar mixture; stir until moistened. Sprinkle over cooled pie. Broil about 6 inches away from heat for 2-3 minutes or until bubbly. Cool before serving. Makes 6 generous servings.
