    2 sticks butter
    1 C sugar
    1 T light corn syrup
    2 T water
    3/4 C chopped walnuts or pecans, divided
    1 C semi-sweet chocolate chips

    Recipe



    Lightly grease large cookie sheet. (I use a margarine stick.) Melt butter and sugar together over medium heat. Add syrup and water. Stir constantly until candy thermometer reaches 310. Remove from heat, add 1/2 C nuts, stir, then pour mixture on cookie sheet. Spread with metal spatula to desired thickness. Sprinkle chocolate chips over mixture. Slowly spread until chocolate is completely melted over butter/sugar mixture. Sprinkle with remaining nuts. Place in refrigerator or freezer until hard. (Usually only about 30 minutes.)

    *Since we usually only make this during Christmas season, we place the sheet outside to harden instead of the fridge or freezer.
