    Holiday Butter Crunch

    2 sticks butter
    1 C sugar
    2 T water
    1 T light corn syrup
    3/4 C finely chopped nuts, divided
    1 C semi-sweet chocolate chips

    Recipe



    Grease large cookie sheet (I use margarine.) Melt butter over low heat. Add sugar. Stirring constantly, bring to boil. Stir in water and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, to 310 on candy thermomter. Remove from heat, add 1/2 C nuts. Pour on cookie sheet, spread to about 1/4 inch thickness. Sprinkle chocolate chips over crunch, wait a few seconds until chocolate is soft. Spread to a thin layer over crunch. Sprinkle with remaining nuts. Place in fridge until hard. Break into pieces.
