    2 cups brown sugar
    1/2 cup lard
    1/2 cup butter
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1/2 teaspoon cream of tarter
    1 level teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    4 cups flour
    1 cup chopped black walnuts

    Recipe



    Cream brown sugar with butter and lard. Beat in eggs and stir in remaining dry ingredients. Mix well. Shape into rolls. Wrap and chill overnight. Slice thin and bake on greased cookied sheet in 400-degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until delicately brown.
