    2 c. Gold Medal Flour
    2 tsp. Ground Ginger
    2 tsp. Baking Soda
    1/2 c. Butter
    3/4 c. Brown Sugar
    3/4 c. Sugar
    1 Egg
    4 tbs. Maple Syrup

    Glaze:
    1/2 c. Confectioner's Sugar
    1/2 tsp. Vanilla
    Milk

    Black Decorating Gel
    Plastic Spider

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift flour, ginger, and soda together. Cut butter into flour mixture until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir the sugar into the mixture. Mix the eggs and maple syrup together, and then add to the flour to make dough. Roll out dough 1/4" thick and cut with large round cutter. Place on a parchment covered cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Make the glaze by mixing the confectioner's sugar, vanilla and enough milk to make glaze of spreading consistency. Spread a thin layer of glaze on cookies. Using black decorating gel, make a series of circles on top of glaze, then drag a toothpick from the center circle to the outside of one to make the web. Add a plastic spider.
