½ cup margarine
2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 ½ cup all purpose flour, unsifted
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup nuts, coarsely chopped


Recipe



Melt margarine in a large saucepan. Remove from heat. Add sugar and vanilla and stir until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to saucepan and mix well; spread in a greased 9”X13” baking pan. Sprinkle chips and nuts over surface of cookie mixture; press down lightly. Bake in a preheated 350 F oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool; cut into bars.
