    1/2 cup corn syrup
    1/4 cup whipping (heavy) cream

1 package (8 squares) Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, chopped
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, toasted

    Recipe

    Prep Time 15 minutes
    Bake Time 40 minutes

HEAT oven to 350°F. Line 13×9-inch baking pan with foil; grease foil.

BEAT 3/4 cup of the butter and 3/4 cup of the brown sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add egg yolk; beat well. Beat in flour and salt until well mixed. Press mixture into bottom of prepared pan.

BAKE 16 to 18 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly on wire rack.

MEANWHILE, mix remaining 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup brown sugar, corn syrup, cream and vanilla in large microwavable bowl until well blended. Microwave on HIGH 4 minutes, stirring halfway through heating time. Spread evenly over crust in pan.

BAKE 18 to 20 minutes or until set. Sprinkle top with chopped chocolate. Bake 1 to 2 minutes longer or until chocolate is melted. Smooth surface evenly with spatula. Sprinkle with pecans. Cool completely on wire rack. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until chocolate is firm. Cut into bars or diamond shapes to serve. Store in tightly covered container.

Make-Ahead Can be prepared up to 1 month ahead for gift-giving. Wrap bars in plastic wrap and place in an airtight plastic container or freezer-weight zipper-style plastic bag. Freeze up to 1 month.
