    1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1/3 cup sugar
    1/2 cup butter, softened
    2/3 cup sugar
    1/2 cup honey
    3 T. all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    2 T. butter, melted
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 cup pecans, chopped

    Combine 1 1/4 cups flour and 1/3 cup sugar in a medium bowl; cut 1/2 cup softened butter into flour mixture with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Press flour mixture evenly into an ungreased 9-inch square baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes, or until edges of crust are lightly browned. Combine 2/3 cup sugar and remaining ingredients in a medium bowl, and stir well. Pour honey mixture over prepared crust. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes, shielding with aluminum foil the last 5 minutes, if necessary. Let cool in a wire rack. Cut into 1 1/2 by 1-inch bars. Yield: 4 1/2 dozen.
