    1 1/2 sticks margarine, softened
    2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
    2 cups plain flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    5 tablespoons confectioner's sugar
    1 1/4 cups pecan or walnut pieces

    Recipe



    1. Cream margarine; add vanilla and cream.

    2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt.

    3. Mix dry ingredients with creamed margarine and
    vanilla.

    3. Add nuts and mix well. (Makes a stiff dough.
    Add 2 tablespoons ice water if needed.)

    4. Form dough into finger-size pieces.

    5. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees
    for 10 minutes or until bottoms are slightly
    browned.

    6. Roll fingers in powdered sugar. Cool
    completely and store in airtight container.
