Toffee Nut Bars

½ cup butter (no substitutions)
½ cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
Cream butter, add sugar gradually, cream thoroughly. Add flour to creamed mixture and work into dough with clean hands. Put in bottom of ungreased 9-inch square pan. Bake or only 10 minutes at 350°F.
Top Layer:
2 egg
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped nuts
Beat eggs until light, stir in brown sugar and mix thoroughly. Blend in vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together, stir into brown sugar mixture and beat until smooth. Blend in coconut and chopped nuts, spread evenly over baked bottom layer and bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Cut when cool - to die for!!
