    1 C. sifted flour
    2 t. baking powder
    1/2 t. salt
    3/4 C. sugar
    6 T. cocoa, divided
    1/2 C. milk
    1 t. vanilla extract
    2 T. butter
    1 C. chopped pecans or walnuts
    1 C. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 3/4 C. hot water

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350*. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and 2 tablespoons cocoa. Stir in milk, vanilla, and butter. Pour into a buttered 2 quart glass baking dish. Sprinkle with mixture of nuts, brown sugar, and remaining cocoa. Pour water over entire batter. Bake 45 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes before inverting on plate. Serve with whipped cream.
