    Old Fashioned Lemon Custard Ice Cream

    Makes about 1 quart

    1 cup sugar
    1/4 cup flour
    4 egg yolks
    1-1/2 cups milk
    1/2 tsp lemon extract
    1-2/3 cup whipping cream

    Recipe



    In a saucepan combine sugar and flour. Stir until flour is completely mixed with sugar and no lumps remain. Blend in egg yolks and milk. Place over medium heat. Stirring constantly, cook until slightly thickened, about 10-15 minutes. Stir in lemon extract and cream. Chill thoroughly.

    Serving suggestion:
    Serve in lemon shells. Slice large lemons lengthwise and ream out pulp.
