    1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
    1 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2 eggs
    6 tablespoons cocoa powder
    1/2 cup sifted all-purpose flour
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

    Cream butter, sugar and vanilla; beat in eggs. Blend in cocoa. Stir in flour and nuts.

    Bake in a greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan at 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool. Cut into squares.
