    Texas Rangers' Brownies

    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. water
    1/4 c. cocoa
    2 c. flour
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 400º
    Butter well a 17x11 inch paking pan
    Combine butter, shortening, water and cocoa to boil
    Add flour, sugar and baking soda
    Stir in buttermilk, vanilla , and eggs
    Pour into prepared pan
    Bake 20 minutes

    Frosting:

    1/2 c. butter
    2 tbls. cocoa
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 c. milk
    3-1/2 c. powdered sugar

    Combine butter, milk, and cocoa; bring to a boil
    Add sugar and vanilla. stir until smooth
    Pour over warm brownies
