4 1/2 cups Sifted flour
3 1/2 teaspoons Baking powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
3 Eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla
3/4 cup Sugar
3 tablespoons Softened butter
3/4 cup Milk


Recipe



Sift flour, salt, spice and baking powder. Beat eggs and sugar. Add vanilla, melted shortening, milk and dry ingredients. Make a soft dough and roll to 1/3 inch thick.
Cut as for doughnuts and drop into hot oil (375 degrees).
Serve plain or roll in confectioners sugar.
