Calamari Almondine

1 six-ounce fresh, succulent Calamari steak
6 ounces cooked fettuccini
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon fresh garlic
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon honey
1/8 cup slivered almonds
1 apple (1/2 diced and 1/2 for garnish)
2/3 cup heavy cream
Recipe
Cook fettuccini in boiling water until al dente. Season Calamari steak in flour, salt, pepper, and garlic. Using a saute pan, heat olive oil, butter and slivered almonds on medium to high heat, then lightly brown both sides of Calamari steak. Once lightly browned, add heavy cream, honey and diced apple. Reduce cream on medium heat for approximately three minutes or until creamy. Place bed of fettuccini on center of plate, then top with Calamari steak and crown with creamy almond sauce. Garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and apple slices. Yields one serving.
