2 lb unpeeled medium-size fresh shrimp
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 cup water
3 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 large egg, lightly beaten

Recipe
Peel shrimp, leaving tails intact; devein, if desired. combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Add water lemon juice, oil and egg; stir until smooth.
Pour oil to depth of 2 inches into a Dutch oven; heat to 375 degrees. Dip shrimp into batter, and fry, a few at a time, until golden. Drain on paper towels.
