    2 tablespoons of olive oil
    1 cup of red wine
    2 tablespoons of butter
    2 medium onions
    1 large ripe tomato
    1 clove garlic
    1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
    1 teaspoon each of basil, parsley & thyme
    2 dashes of Tabasco
    1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
    Two 28 ounce cans of crushed tomatoes
    2 small cans of tomato sauce
    3 pounds of mussels

    Saute the onion and garlic with oil and butter. Add tomato, chopped. Add cans of tomatoes and spices and wine. Let it come to a boil. Reduce heat and add cleaned mussels and let cook until opened.
