    Melt in the top of a double boiler:

    1 C semi-sweet chocolate morsels
    2 T butter or shortening
    Stir until smooth remove from heat

    Add:

    1 C sifted powdered sugar
    1 tsp vanilla
    about 1/4 Cup hot milk (add slowly)

    Beat until satin smooth


    Add a little more sugar if consistency is too thin for spreading

    Frosts two 8" layers
