    1 cup milk
    1/4 cup flour
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup solid white shortening
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Recipe



    Stir together milk and flour in a saucepan; let stand 5 minutes. Cook over low heat until slightly thickened. Cool, but don't let it get cold.
    Beat together sugar and shortening until mixture is flutty. Beat in milk mixture, salt and vanilla. Continue beating until fluffy.
