French Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches

    Source of Recipe

    Internet

    List of Ingredients

Apply peanut butter (smooth or crunchy, your preference) to one slice of bread, and jelly (we prefer grape jelly, but any type will work) to another slice of bread.

Put the two slices of bread together, with peanut butter and jelly sides facing each other.

Dip both sides of the sandwich in a mixture consisting of one well beaten egg, 1 tsp. vanilla, and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon (all ingredients can be adjusted per individual taste and the amount of sandwiches being made).

Immediately place dipped sandwich into a hot skillet, in which some butter or artificial butter spray has been melted.

Brown both sides of sandwich, and serve immediately, on plate with fork/knife.

Some like to add sifted, powdered sugar on the top side of the sandwich, for taste and/or decoration.

This is a fall/winter family favorite to enjoy, as the peanut butter and jelly are warm and melt together, and the "French toasted bread" gives the sandwich a special taste -- to make it more than just an ordinary PB & J sandwich.
