Basic Snow Cone Syrup

3/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1 envelope (2 or 3 ounces) soft drink mix, such as Kool Aid or Wylers, any flavor
2 trays ice cubes (about 8 cups ice)




Recipe



Place all ingredients in a large cup or jar with a tight-fitting lid. Shake vigorously until sugar is dissolved. Place in a squeeze bottle or cup with a pour-spout. Shave or grind ice according to manufacturer's directions. Scoop ice into bowls or cups. Pour syrup over shaved ice. We use about 4 or 5 tablespoons to about 3/4 cup ice, but the amount you use depends on your personal taste.

Makes about 1 1/4 cups syrup. Serving size is 4 to 6 tablespoons.
