    3 c. water
    4 c. peeled, diced potatoes
    1/2 c. diced carrots
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1/2 c. chopped onions
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
    1/4 c. stick margarine
    1/4 c. flour
    2 c. milk
    1 c. evaporated milk
    2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
    1 c. cubed ham

    Recipe



    In saucepan, combine water, vegetables, salt (if desired) and pepper. Cover and simmer for 25 to 35 minutes or until vegetables are almost tender. Do not drain. In another saucepan, melt margarine. Stir in flour, then milk and heat to boiling. Continue simmering, stirring constantly until thickened. Add cheese stir until melted. Add undrained vegetables and ham. Heat through. but do not boil.
