    Spinach Cheese Chowder

    1 pkg. chopped frozen spinach thawed undrained
    2 c. water
    1 can chicken broth
    4 med. carrots
    1/2 c. pearl barley
    1/2 t. salt
    1/4 t. nutmeg
    2 T. flour
    2 c. milk
    2 c. shredded cheddar cheese

    Recipe



    In a 4 qt. saucepan combine first 8 ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat. Cover and simmer 50 min. or until barley is tender. In separate bowl combine flour and milk to creamy consistency. Gradually add to chowder. Cook over med. heat 10 min. or until thick and heated, stir occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in cheese. Makes 6 1 cup servings.
