    Source of Recipe

    Maggie's Mess Hall / www.recipecircus.com

    List of Ingredients

    • 2 to 4 Cornish Hens
    • 1 Large Orange (for two birds) 2 Large Oranges (for 4 birds)
    • 1 Stalk of Celery
    • Accent
    • Onion Powder
    • Garlic Powder
    • Soy Sauce
    • "Yoshida's" Sweet & Sour Sauce
    • Fresh Ground Pepper
    • Salt
    • Cooking Bag
    • 9 X 13 Baking Pan

    Instructions

    1. Soak Cornish Hens in salt water for at least 30 minutes. Rinse Thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels.

    2. Sprinkle liberally inside and out of birds with, Accent, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder.

    3. Cut Orange into quarters. Stuff one quarter of the Orange inside each bird. Cut Celery Stalk into 4 pieces. Stuff 1 piece of celery into each bird. Place 1 Tblsp. of "Yoshida's" sauce inside each bird.

    4. Place Cooking Bag in Pan. Place birds in cooking bag. Squeeze the left-over Orange pieces over the birds. Sprinkle each bird with Soy Sauce.

    5. Close cooking bag. Don't forget to punch a couple of small holes in top of bag.

    6. Place Bag in a 350 degree oven. Bake until done. (I test for doness by moving the leg bone. It should move very easy when birds are done.)

    7. Remove Pan from oven. Cut open cooking bag so that birds are entirely exposed. Spoon "Yoshida's Sauce" all over birds. Return to oven for at least 20 to 30 more minutes. The sauce will bake on top of birds giving them a wonderful flavor. Sprinkle with Fresh Ground Pepper before serving.

    8. Serve with a Tossed Green Salad and a Small Baked Potato. Top off the meal with "Strawberry Delight Desert".

    9. Aproximately 10 grams of carbohydrates per bird.
